- Case Management
-
Case management services: are an essential part of IRC’s Women and Protection Empowerment
(WPE) programming.
All WPE programs have a component of Case Management, whether we provide these services ourselves
or support other organizations / partnership in doing so, whether we are operating in emergency or
post-conflict contexts. This is because we know that case management is a critical intervention for the
healing and recovery of GBV survivors. Over the many years that IRC has been providing case management
services for GBV survivors and women at risk of GBV, we have developed a very specific approach that is rooted
in our theory of violence against women and girls and is based on best-practice.

Girl Shine Caregiver Curriculum
-
The dedicated Girl Shine Caregiver Curriculum has been designed to be implemented with both female and male
caregivers of unmarried adolescent girls. It provides complementary support to the Girl Shine Life Skills Curriculum
and is a critical component of the overall Girl Shine program. The Girl Shine Caregiver Curriculum is not a parenting
curriculum, in the sense that it does not aim to equip parents and caregivers with positive parenting skills. It has
instead been designed to address broader issues around gender equality, especially in relation to the experience of
adolescent girls and the root causes of the violence against them. The Girl Shine Caregiver Curriculum addresses
broader issues of gender inequality within the family structure, which impact adolescent girls’ experience of GBV inside
and outside of home, challenges and changes norms and attitudes within the family structure so in the long term
adolescent girls are more protected and treated more equitably, Addresses power dynamics between female and male
caregivers and adolescent girls, acknowledging and giving space to women to share their own experience of the
limitations they face within the family structure while also ensuring that the needs of adolescent girls remain at the
center of the intervention, designed to improve female and male caregivers’ understanding of the specific needs of girls
and how to provide a supportive environment for girls during this period of transition, Addresses harmful attitudes held
by women and men about adolescent girls, while building upon the positive attitudes that women and men may already hold.

Male Engagement in Women Protection & Empowerment
-
This guideline "Guide to Engaging Men in the Protection and Empowerment of Women and Girls" consists of a set of 12 sessions
aimed at engaging men in the empowerment and protection of women and girls. Focus group discussions (FGDs) under
the IRC's Women's Protection and Empowerment (WPE) program in Jordan were conducted with men, women, and teenage
girls about ways that men can play a supportive role for women and girls in different societies. Based on the results of focus
group discussions and based on the material available on this topic. These sessions have been prepared and formulated to
create this guide in a manner appropriate to the work context in Jordan.
This guide aims to engage men in supporting women and girls in their communities through discussions that raise awareness
about topics related to gender roles, power structures, anger management, joint decision-making, consent giving, early marriage,
and knowledge about management. Finance. This guide uses a participatory learning approach through experience, reflection,
expression of opinions and ideas, and discussions in a healthy and safe environment.
